「何がきっかけで、警察官になろうと思ったんですか？」
「子どもの頃、祖父の家に一人で行こうとして、道に迷ってしまったんです。道の真ん中で泣いていたら、警察官が『もう泣かなくていいよ。大丈夫』と声をかけてくれました。その時の安心感は、言葉では言い表せないほどでした。
この経験から、警察官にあこがれるようになり、成長するにつれて、その思いはますます強くなりました。そして今、ようやく長年の願いが叶いました。」

“What made you want to become a police officer?”
“When I was a child, I tried to go to my grandfather’s house by myself and got lost. I was crying in the middle of the road when a police officer spoke to me kindly: ‘You don’t have to cry anymore. It’s okay.’ The relief I felt at that moment was more than words can express.
This experience made me admire police officers, and as I grew up, that feeling became stronger and stronger. And now, my long-held wish has finally come true.”
問1（指示語） 正解：2。「この」「その」などの指示語は、ふつう直前に書かれていることを指します。「この経験」の直前には、道に迷って泣いていたとき、警察官が声をかけてくれて安心した、という出来事が書かれています。Pointer words like「この」usually refer to what was just written. Right before「この経験」, the passage describes getting lost, crying, and being comforted by a police officer.
- 2：本文の「安心感」を「安心した」と言いかえている。内容が本文と合う。
- 1：「祖父」は本文の言葉だが、話を聞いた場面はない。

Tip: Options 2, 3 and 4 describe the same scene from three different roles: the speaker was the one who received help (2) — not a bystander who watched it (3), and not the helper (4). The verb「くれました」shows the action was done for the speaker. Tracking てくれる／てもらう／てあげる is a classic JLPT skill.
