📌 パターン / Pattern:名詞 + 向き(の/に/だ)

💡 「〜に合っている、〜に適している」(特別に作ったわけではないが、自然と合っている)
“Suitable for ~; naturally fitting for ~.” Not deliberately designed, but happens to be a good match.

① この仕事しごと体力たいりょくのあるひと向きだ。
This job is suitable for physically strong people.

④ この公園こうえんしずかでひろいので、ども向き場所ばしょだとおもいます。

📚 語彙 / Vocabulary
  • 体力たいりょく = physical strength / stamina
  • けわしい = steep / rugged
  • 経験者けいけんしゃ = experienced person
  • 向きむき = suitable for / naturally fitting
⚠️ まちがえやすい / Easy to Confuse!
向き vs 向け
「向き」=自然と合っている(意図していない)。「向け」=最初から〜のために作った(意図的)。
✅ この登山道とざんどう傾斜けいしゃがゆるやかなので、初心者しょしんしゃ向きだ。(自然と合っている)
✅ この教科書きょうかしょ留学生りゅうがくせい向けかれた。(最初から留学生のために作った)
✗ この登山道とざんどう初心者しょしんしゃ向けだ。(意図して作った道ではないので不自然)
向き = naturally suited, without deliberate design. 向け = intentionally made/designed for a specific target from the start.
Q2. 〜向け

📌 パターン / Pattern:名詞 + 向け(の/に/に作る)

💡 「最初から〜のために作った・準備した。〜を対象にした。」
“Designed for ~; made specifically for ~.” The target is decided intentionally from the start.

① この教科書きょうかしょ留学生りゅうがくせい向けかれています。
This textbook was written for international students.

大人おとな向け雑誌ざっしをコンビニにくのはよくない。
It is not good to place magazines for adults in convenience stores.

③ このスマートウォッチは健康管理けんこうかんり重視じゅうしするひと向け商品しょうひんです。

  • 向けむけ = designed for / intended for
⚠️ まちがえやすい / Easy to Confuse!
向け vs みたいに
「みたいに」は「〜のように(比較)」という意味です。「〜のために作った」という意味にはなりません。
ども向けつくられた。— Made for children. (intended target ✓)
どもみたいにつくられた。— Made like a child. (comparison — wrong meaning ✗)
みたいに = “like ~ / in the manner of ~” (comparison). It cannot replace 向け when expressing that something was made for a specific audience.
Q3. 〜だらけ

📌 パターン / Pattern:名詞 + だらけ(の/で)

💡 「〜がたくさんある。〜でいっぱい。」(汚いもの・困ったものに使うことが多い)
“Covered in ~; full of ~.” Usually used for unwanted, messy, or troublesome things.

どろだらけくつあらった。
I washed shoes that were covered in mud.

② あのレポートは間違まちがだらけで、やりなおしになった。
That report was full of mistakes and had to be redone.

んできずだらけになってしまった。
I fell and ended up covered in cuts and scrapes.

してきた部屋へやはほこりだらけで、掃除そうじするのが大変たいへんだった。
The room I moved into was covered in dust, and it was hard work cleaning it.

📚 語彙 / Vocabulary
  • どろ = mud
  • 間違まちがい = mistake / error
  • きず = wound / scratch / cut
  • ほこり = dust
⚠️ まちがえやすい / Easy to Confuse!
だらけ vs っぽい
「っぽい」は「〜のような感じがする」という意味で、必ずしもマイナスではありません。
✅ ほこりっぽい部屋へや = a dusty-feeling room(形容詞的に使う)
✅ ほこりだらけ部屋へや = a room covered in dust(名詞+だらけ、より具体的・程度が強い)
このぶんでは( )のあとに「で」がるので「だらけ+で」が自然です。
っぽい attaches to nouns/adjectives and means “feels like ~; -ish.” だらけ is stronger — “completely full of something (bad).” The で after the blank also makes だらけ the most natural fit here.
だらけ vs がち
「がち」は「〜することが多い・〜になりやすい傾向」という意味で、状態ではなく習慣・傾向を表します。
かれ遅刻ちこくがちだ。— He tends to be late often.
✗ ほこりがち — ✗ Not a natural expression.
がち = “tends to ~; prone to ~” (habitual tendency). だらけ = “covered in; full of” (a state). They are completely different in meaning.
Q4. 〜気味(ぎみ)

📌 パターン / Pattern:名詞 / 動詞のます形の幹 + 気味

💡 「少し〜のような感じがする。」(体の調子や気持ちがあまりよくないときによく使う)
“Feeling slightly ~; a touch of ~.” Often used when health or mood is a little off.

最近さいきんつか気味だ。すこやすみたい。

  • ふと気味ぎみ = slightly overweight
  • 風邪かぜ気味ぎみ = feeling like you might be catching a cold

⚠️ まちがえやすい / Easy to Confuse!
気味 vs がち
どちらもマイナスのニュアンスがありますが、使い方が違います。
気味ぎみ」=今の状態(少し〜の感じがする)
「がち」=習慣・傾向(よく〜することが多い)
風邪かぜ気味だ。— I feel like I’m slightly coming down with a cold right now.
風邪かぜがちだ。— I tend to catch colds often. (habitual tendency)
気味 describes your current feeling/state (“slightly ~”). がち describes a habitual tendency (“tends to ~; often ~”). The sentence here is about a current feeling, so 気味 is correct.
Q5. 〜なんて/なんか

📌 パターン / Pattern:普通形 + なんて

💡 意味① 「こんなことがあるなんて、びっくり!」(驚き・感動)
“I can’t believe ~! How surprising that ~!” (expressing surprise or strong emotion)

📚 語彙 / Vocabulary
  • しんじられない = unbelievable / I can’t believe it
  • こんなに = this much / to this extent
  • 料理りょうり = food / dish / cooking
  • なんか ≈ なんて(より口語的 / more casual)
⚠️ まちがえやすい / Easy to Confuse!
なんて(驚き)vs わりに
「わりに(は)」は「〜から考えると、ちょっと意外だな」という比較の驚きです。
✅ あのレストランは値段ねだんわりにおいしい。— That restaurant is tasty considering the price.
✅ こんなにおいしいなんてらなかった!— I had no idea it was this delicious! (pure exclamation of surprise)
わりに = “considering ~; for the price/level of ~” (comparative surprise). なんて in this sentence is a pure exclamation: “I can’t believe ~!”
なんて(驚き)vs おかげで / せいで
「おかげで」=いい結果の原因(感謝)。「せいで」=悪い結果の原因(責任)。
どちらも「驚き」「感動」を表すことはできません。
おかげで = “thanks to ~” (good result, gratitude). せいで = “because of ~” (bad result, blame). Neither expresses surprise or exclamation like なんて does.
Q6. 〜に違いない

  • 証拠しょうこ = evidence / proof
  • 確信かくしん = strong conviction / certainty
  • プロ = professional
⚠️ まちがえやすい / Easy to Confuse!
に違いない vs に決まっている
どちらも「絶対〜だ」という確信を表しますが、ニュアンスが違います。
「に違いない」=理由・証拠をもとにした論理的な確信(やや書き言葉寄り)
「に決まっている」=感覚・常識からくる主観的な確信(口語的・感情的に強い)
証拠しょうこからかんがえると、かれ犯人はんにんに違いない。— Based on the evidence, he must be the culprit.
✅ そんなにべたらふとに決まっている!— Of course you’ll gain weight if you eat that much!
に違いない = logical certainty based on evidence (slightly more formal). に決まっている = assertive certainty based on common sense or strong feeling (more casual, more emotional).
に違いない vs わけがない
「わけがない」は「そんなことはありえない」という強い否定です。「に違いない」とは意味が反対。

④ たった3日間かかん勉強べんきょうするだけではなせるようになるなんて無理むりに決まっている
There’s absolutely no way you can become able to speak by studying for just three days.

📚 語彙 / Vocabulary
  • たった〜だけ = only ~ / just ~ (emphasizing small amount)
  • 無理むり = impossible / unreasonable
  • ことわる = to refuse / to turn down
  • に決まってる = に決まっている(口語短縮形)
⚠️ まちがえやすい / Easy to Confuse!
に決まっている vs に違いない
「に決まっている」ははな主観しゅかん感情かんじょうつよる表現です。フォーマルな場では使えません。
「に違いない」は証拠しょうこ理由りゆうをもとにした論理的な確信で、書き言葉にも使えます。
✅(フォーマル)このデータでーたからかんがえると、かれ原因げんいんに違いない
