日本で自転車を買おうと思っている人は多いでしょう。しかし、買うときには大切なルールがあります。それが「自転車防犯登録制度」です。
日本の法律では、自転車を持っている人は、外国人もふくめて全員、この登録をしなければならないと決まっています。店で自転車を買うと、店員から登録のための書類を渡されます。そこに自分の名前や電話番号、住所などを書きます。
ペンは店で借りられるので、持っていく必要はありません。ですが、在留カードなどの「身分証明書」は持っていったほうがいいでしょう。日本の住所を漢字で正しく書くのは簡単ではありませんが、カードを見ながら写せば、間違えずに書くことができるからです。
また、この登録には少しお金がかかります。しかし、もし自転車を盗まれたり、なくしたりしたとき、警察が見つけてくれる可能性が高くなります。ルールを守って、安全な自転車生活を楽しみましょう。

Many people are probably thinking of buying a bicycle in Japan. However, there is an important rule when you buy one. It is the “Bicycle Anti-Theft Registration System.”
Under Japanese law, everyone who owns a bicycle — including foreigners — must complete this registration. When you buy a bicycle at a shop, the staff will hand you a registration form. On it, you write your name, phone number, address, and so on.
You can borrow a pen at the shop, so you don’t need to bring one. However, it is a good idea to bring an ID document such as your residence card. Writing your Japanese address correctly in kanji is not easy, but if you copy it while looking at your card, you can write it without mistakes.
Also, this registration costs a small fee. However, if your bicycle is stolen or lost, the police will be more likely to find it for you. Follow the rules and enjoy a safe bicycle life in Japan!
