Just because ~ doesn’t mean ~. One fact on its own is not enough to reach that conclusion.
A qualification is no guarantee that you’ll find work straight away.
Having experience doesn’t mean you can skip the checks.
A high price is no promise of good food.
からといって = just because ~ doesn’t mean ~ / といっても = well, not as much as that sounds
Setting ~ aside, ~. You park one point for now — it may still matter later — and deal with the bigger one first.
Someone suggested a class reunion. The venue can wait — if we don’t fix a date first, nobody will turn up.
Taste aside, the big portions are what this place has going for it.
His way of putting it aside, what he actually said is right.
はともかく = setting ~ aside for now / はもとより = ~ goes without saying, and also ~
On the one hand ~, on the other ~. Two facts that pull in different directions, set side by side.
Tanaka gets his work at the company done properly, and on his days off he coaches football for the local kids.
The city population grows, while in the regions it keeps falling.
New houses keep going up in this town, while the shops in the old shopping street keep disappearing.
一方(で)= on the one hand ~, on the other ~ / くせに = even though ~ (blaming)
〜とはいえ to wa ie
That said, ~. You accept the first part as true, then push back: it doesn’t settle the matter.
AI does the translating for us now, but in the end a person still has to check it.
It may be spring now, but the mornings are still cold.
The meeting may have settled it, but that doesn’t mean everyone is happy with it.
とはいえ = that said, ~ / というより = rather than ~ (picking a better word)
